As you know, having this blog seemed rather redunant given the EgoTwit's daily comments on Twitter. But suddenly, the EgoTwit has gone silent. Did NBC take that away from him too? Poor Keith Olbermann's Ego. Phil Griffin simply does not get the genius that is (or is that was) Keith Olbermann's Ego.

That seems to go with suspension, unfortunately. David Schuster has only been permitted to use Twitter in very limited circumstances since his suspension.
I think Keith's contributions were made out of genuine conviction and a sense of urgency: Grijalva's office was threatened and Paul's people shoved a woman to the ground and stepped on her head. But he did disobey a rule; to be disciplined in and of itself is not unfair. But the severity points to the real issue, and that is that Phil Griffin is trying desperately in the face of incoming new management to prove that he can control the operation. In the end, it's about power and who runs things. Keith may have support and influence, but he is not, on paper, management. The question is, can he live w/that?
I've posted a few times about his oddities (namely the choice of Thurber tales), but if in fact, it is true that his show is over, it's one important progressive voice being squeezed out by the ever increasing corporate takeover of the media. And that is sad.
Keith's Ego, this is your best publicity stunt ever! I hope it doesn't backfire on you because I really don't want you to lose your show, you doofus.
