Feud? What Feud? There is no Feud.

Keith Olbermann's Ego doesn't care what the NY Times says.
At an off-the-record summit meeting for chief executives sponsored by Microsoft in mid-May, the PBS interviewer Charlie Rose asked Jeffrey Immelt, chairman of G.E., and his counterpart at the News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch, about the feud. Both moguls expressed regret over the venomous culture between the networks and the increasingly personal nature of the barbs. Days later, even though the feud had increased the audience of both programs, their lieutenants arranged a cease-fire, according to four people who work at the companies and have direct knowledge of the deal.
Look, Keith Olbermann's Ego could care less about any deal that Immelt and Murdoch made (thanks alot Charlie Rose for being so "helpful"). The Ego totally agreed to the deal because who are we kidding? They pay Keith Olbermann's Ego $7.5 mil a year, and just gave Katy (another) new job would never, ever make such a deal atsoever about whatever little deal that Immelt and Murdoch made.
Mr. Olbermann, who is on vacation, said by e-mail message, “I am party to no deal,” adding that he would not have been included in any conversations between G.E. and the News Corporation. Fox News said it would not comment.
What? You want me to translate what The Ego meant by not being party to a deal and would not be a party to such a deal? The Ego wasn't there people. That's what it means. He was not physically present in the room with Immelt, Murdoch and Charlie Rose when they cut the deal.
In early June, the combat stopped, and MSNBC and Fox, for the most part, found other targets for their verbal missiles (Hello, CNN).
Keith Olbermann's Ego would just like to remind everyone that the embedded video above? You know the one from "Early June" (June 1st)? Where Keith Olbermann's Ego issued a mandate to "quarantine" Fox News and Bill O'Reilly? There is absolutely no connection whatsoever between The Ego's ultimatum and the agreement between the two networks to ceasefire (even if there is video evidence suggesting otherwise). If the Ego says it never happened, it never happened. No matter what Salon says either.

UPDATE: And this guy at Inside Cable News who says that Keith Olbermann's Ego used the murder of Dr. Tiller to save this and stop talking about Fox and Bill O'Reilly? He's 100% correct wrong.

Thanks for linking to Salon, Greenwald is downright scathing, not to mention totally CORRECT!!!

It will be interesting to see how Olbermann recovers from this one. Considering they all ignored the Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer episode, I'm sure he'll follow suit and simply not mention it. $7mil is a TON of coin to walk away from. Not to mention that Katy is on the NBC payroll as well.

What will be funny is the pretzel-twisting the KOS folks will have to do to "justify" their "new" corporate shill, Keith "I gotta pay the rent" Olbermann.

The folks on Daily Kos and the other sites that worship at his altar won't say a word. Neither will he. But he's a complete and utter fraud and sell-out. And all the bilovating in the world is never going to change that. Glad Greenwald called him out on this since the NYT's writer didn't put the puzzle together the way Greenwald did.

Monday's show oughta be good. He's pretty much in a situation where he is going to have to attack BOR or Fox just to prove he's not totally owned by the bosses at NBC which of course will void the whole deal and then the feud will be back on again, giving me even less incentive to watch him anymore.

O'Reilly has to say something outrageous if Keith is going to attack. If it seems too contrived for WPITW or a #1 story, everyone will know he only did it to say, "See, they can't tell ME what to do!"

If Keith's Ego needs a boost in the ratings (and a boost for his big Ego) he should take Colbert up on his offer and start a little feud with him.

Stephen gave you the opening, Keith's Ego. Don't let it slip away.

So let me see if I can sum this up. Basically, Keith used the murder of the abortion doctor, Dr. Tiller as a cover to explain why he would no longer be discussing O'Reilly when that had nothing to do with it other than to provide a convenient cover story for him. Hey Keith--guess who else is irrelevant? YOU!

This blog is hateful and full of lies said...

I don't believe this for a minute. Keith would never ever in a million years compromise himself or his ethics and integrity by agreeing to be silenced by anyone about anything especially about Fox News. This is just another attempt to undermine his credibility.

Your hero has feet of clay. He totally made a deal and then tried to make it look like he was being all high and noble. But I have to admit he's a very good actor.

His most ardent fans will never believe it so this won't hurt him at all.

Yes that's what so great about being the Ego, people love me and will defend me no matter what (and especially when it's true). Life is good.
