Keith Olbermann is
priceless. But if forced to pick a number, then the answer is $30 million over four years. Sure that bumps The Ego up into a higher tax category (thanks President Obama) but who the hell cares? Keith Olbermann is the
king god of cable news. As it should be.

The answer? Not nearly as much as Keith thinks he is or MSNBC is willing to pay him. I guess P.T. Barnum was right: there is a sucker born every moment and MSNBC has sucker written all over them. Here's my fearless prediction: he won't be there in 2012. He'll crash and burn way before then, I give him 2 years, tops. Then he'll be angry at NBC-Universal the way he is with Fox right now.
2 years may be overestimating it. More and more people are beginning to put together just how egotistical, self-serving, self-centered, and full of BS he really is: He was savaged earlier this week for admitting he doesn't vote. The "but I'm a journalist" line just isn't working for him anymore now that he's crossed the line between journalism and advocacy.
People love The Ego. The critics love The Ego. The fans love The Ego. Most importantly, the people writing the checks at NBC LOVE The Ego. And what's not to love really?
